Cody Bellinger Exits The Game After Taking A Fastball To The Knee

Cody Bellinger was taken out in the 4th inning of Monday’s game vs. the Cincinnati Reds. He was hit by a 96 mph fastball on the right knee after trying to back away from that 0-1 ball and remained in the game until he attempted to run to first base after the hit.

Dave Roberts and a member of the training staff went on to the field to check on Bellinger, who appeared to be in a lot of pain at the time. Bellinger walked or jogged, appearing to be in discomfort.

When the inning was over, he was replaced in right field by Alex Verdugo.
