Albert Pujols Gives Jersey To Young Fan With Down Syndrome After the Game

After the Angels were defeated by the Toronto Blue Jays 3-1, Pujols saw Nico, a child with Down syndrome, from afar wearing his jersey in the crowd. As the Angels came together following the game, Pujols noticed him in the stands down the first-base line and immediately walked over to him to give away his jersey and sign it for young Nico also.

Dating all the way back to 2005, Pujols has dedicated much of his life off the field to helping children with Down syndrome through the Pujols Family Foundation, which he started with his wife. Their daughter Isabella was born with the condition as well.

Pujols, 39, is now in his 19th season in the majors, is a 10-time All-Star who entered Thursday batting .235 with 12 home runs and 39 RBI.
