UCLA coach John Savage joins Petros and David Vassegh to talk about what it was like coaching Gerrit Cole and how he put himself in position to earn a monster deal.
Gerrit Cole:
He is going to an area that nobody has really gone into. We are letting it play out and we are so excited for Gerrit and his family. The one thing I say about Gerrit is he wants to be the best.
On if location matters for Gerrit Cole:
He was really focused on what he was doing at UCLA and he had the opportunity to sign with the Yankees as the 28th pick and decided to come to UCLA mature and grow. Every step he has taken has been the right one and he put himself in that position.
